oxal - for a lighter life

Mexicans take 2 tablets of OXAL once a year to prevent stomach amoeba infection. our Spanish teacher told Lady to take it to get over her 3 weeks of diarrhea, and for me to take a dose too, even though i’m not ill. the children take it once or twice a year for protection. she explained there’s no food safety or inspection standards in Mexico, and it’s dangerous to eat outside your home.
OXAL is 150 mg of Quinfamida, 200 mg of Albendazol. one stops intestinal amoeba from reproducing, the other kills intestinal worm parasites. what a charming duo - bugs and parasitic worms. if you’re coming to mexico, get some. seems to be making lady better. so far i haven’t been hit here. i wonder if my bout of food poisoning in spain and weeks of diarrhea in morocco and london have built a bit of immunity for me here. i hope so. being sick long periods seeps into your whole life, effects everything you think, feel, and do. lady was sick for two weeks, then suffered the after effects of the Cipro anti-biotic for a week, then was healthy for a week, followed by another 3 weeks of stomach amoeba dysentery.
of course, the way the world’s going, as the west’s infrastructure decays and vermin spreads, a whole lotta new people in a whole lotta new places are going to become intimate with their upset innards. lady and i are just getting in some head-start practice.
but that’s yesterday’s news, and yesterday’s gone.

in life, by the time i’d gotten a handle on what was going on, i’d wasted most my youth and much of my body. i was left dealing with the damage i’d done before i knew what was what. all life’s wisdom seems to have a Catch-22. like being able to move a mountain with your mind if you’ve faith - well you could, but you can’t because once you know enough to move the mountain, you know the mountain belongs where it is. everything has its own small zen print exception clause just beneath its shiny surface promise. including Santa.
i decided in 1966 i could best secure success by seeking failure. if my goal is to fail, no matter what i do i succeed. if i fail, i succeed in failing, so am a success, thus fail again doubly succeeding. if i succeed, i fail to fail so fail thus succeed etcetera. a win-win-win-win situation.
