Fall session — Poetry at Pat’s in the Flats

Bridge in the flats – foto Smith

The first Poetry at Pat’s in the Flats last spring went well so we’ve decided to go seasonal and do it every three months.

In three weeks we’ll gather 6 featured poets, a musical group or two and a dynamite open mic for our Summer Sunday August 26th, 2012 11am – 3pm.

Pat’s is a long famous bar in the industrial flats and will open at 11 that Sunday morning, sandwiches to be available at 11:30, the first musical interlude to begin at 12:15, featured poets at 12:30; a second musical interlude at 2, and open mic 2:15-3 . . . mostly maybe more or less.

The featured poets are Mary Weems, Russ Vidrick, Tom Orange, Steve Thomas, Milenko Budimir, and Shelley Chernin.

The music will be provided by Malphonia who are Joe Milan on accordion and vocals, Steven Mastroianni on euphonium, trumpet, vocals, and the stylings of Milenko Budimir on Micro-Percussion.

Tom Orange may musically intermix or not as these things are not static.

I will sprinkle their bios thru-out upcoming blogs.

They’ve let me stay as emcee, so I will bring my bottle of bubblejuice and blow a few . . . I need to make a better blower from a piece of wire so I can blow bigger bubbles.
