lol.. This post made me laugh... I have a love-hate relationship with my cellphone. I have it and appreciate it for it's convenience but dislike that that convenience comes at the cost of people expecting an instant response to everything. I like to not be able to be reached sometimes. And do not feel an obligation to drop something I'm doing to respond instantly to someone else. About something that 9 times out of 10 is not important. I do however appreciate that it helps me stay connected to my son because we text several times a day. And that is unobtrusive and can be responded to when convenient... so in some ways I find texting a better option. My son, Ryan , who is also not much of a phone talker prefers to text.. so it keeps me up to date with what he does. I will miss that when he heads to Afghanistan beginning of November... it will be very quite not hearing from him daily.

I have a landline phone still at home but it seems mostly telemarketers call or currently every political pollster in existence. I've kept it because hubby cannot understand the use of a cell phone but he is now rapidly not being able to understand the landline either... he hangs up on most people who call now including me. So now the cell phone is my primary phone.

I have had a few instances of rogue calls on my cell... a few have been telemarketing ads... but the most annoying have been the several I'd gotten from an unknown person that included photos. The photos have all been of a man's private parts dressed in various attire. ( such as a turkey hat and a corn cob pipe... or some ones scrotum shaped as a heart for Valentine's Day.) sigh....

And they appear to arrive seasonally. In a sort of way these half dozen texts with photos have been humorous but I in no way wish to respond to them because then for sure they know there is a live body at the other end. I've not gotten any now in several months.. thank goodness.
