  1. think the main culprit was soda pop and fast food and rising poverty – there’s a direct correlation between poverty and fatness due to fast food being subsidized by the government and thus being cheaper than fruit and vegetables.

  2. also the advent of drive thru fast food about the same time — you don’t even have to waddle across the parking lot and up to the counter anymore. when they start delivering it, lookout

  3. yup, drive-thru, fast foods, soda pop, corn fructose syrup, unbelievable amounts of sugar, tv, and no exercise. plus ever since ronald raygunz became our puppet president, the country has been breaking down and the stress level rising and we all eat more when we’re stressed. and of course all the fast food folk began super-sizing and adding bacon and cheese and grease to everything.
