Sirens in the Night

My night opera of sirens
serenade a la doo-wop
a bop bamboo
in clash of broke and tires
tears wet and torn
bebop be horn reborn
from Bird Is Dead
to Thelonious Monkastery
somewhere down near Monterey
your you your your
my me meme me
we be cool jazz alludes
Mister and Misses Dudes
in bed embedded in the wet wicked west
you purrin’ my tail whirrin’
my heart right through my head
