the birds & bees

These are Lady’s and my pieces for
The Gold Standard & The Silver Lining Show
October 10 – November 1, 2014
Doubting Thomas Gallery
856 Jefferson Ave, Cleveland, Ohio, 44113

curated by Joanie Deveney.

Lady’s been talking about making bees for months, buying possible bee body beads and bee head beads, and I think she would have made some delightful art deco bee beads, but she wanted real so made clay bodies with staple legs and wax paper wings held together with glue and paint . . . and her first one was good enough to make a poet see a real live dead bee.

This first bee piece is her art bee bee comb beginning.

There’s the birds and the bees and the woids and the beads leading down an art deco retro road to a real honey healing gold end lode

We’re glad Joan of Art curates these shows . . . our 1st one was a collaboration for last Valentine Day’s Stupid Cupid exhibition.
