Got the nicest card from my mother-n-father-in-law — “Steve — Happy landing! Tim & I wanted to let you know that we think you are the best thing that’s ever happened to our daughter.” Wow. Ain’t bad, especially considering I’m 4 years older than they are, 27 years older than their daughter. It amazed me how readily they accepted me 18+ years ago.
Of course, their daughter is the best thing that’s happened to me outside my first 17 years with my parents. Lady and I both had loving funny parents. Many of my friends did not.
