Expensive day in Smithtown . . . took dog to 24 hr pet hospital — so far $1,200 for X-Raying chest and abdomen, blood tests, and visit. Way more expensive than our local vet, but you can’t get into local vet without an appointment. Ouch. But, he’s family, is loved . . . of course we’ll find out how loved he is if they start adding to the cost.
Ooops, just called, want to keep overnight and run ultrasounds, etc for $4,000. No. They’ll hydrate him and give him some meds and we’ll bring him home for maybe $2,000.
Hard to put a price tag on your loved ones.
(he’s also 13, has had cancer, and is failing, so . . . )
